More about Ian

Ian Camner is a composer, orchestrator, arranger, and copyist from Los Angeles, CA, living in Nashville, TN. Having grown up in LA heavily inspires Ian's creative process. LA is a rich environment buzzing with creativity and diversity, which he has spent his entire life trying to harness. There is not a single day Ian wastes; he works tirelessly to grow his already extensive portfolio of work.

Ian goes the extra mile. In his copy work, he is hired because he makes the music legible, efficiently and with a sense of urgency. In his compositional work for media, Ian takes each director’s vision and passionately brings it to life. To Ian, nothing but the director’s vision is more vital. Ultimately, this alone informs every musical choice, every note, every sound. He is excellent at interpreting words like ‘blue,’ ‘dark,’ ‘sad,’ and ‘rich.’ In his compositions, Ian wears his influences on his sleeve; people like Stravinsky, Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Mahler, Burial, Aphex Twin, and Björk, to name just a few.

All in all, Ian is driven, detail-oriented, and motivated to get the job done. If you had to describe Ian’s current creative and mental state, a word like hungry comes to mind— hungry to push towards greatness with people like you.
